The Birth of A Mother
As a mother, a wife, a sister, a daughter, a friend and a doula, I understand how important a support system is. Many times in life we go through the most life altering experiences without adequate support.
I believe that birth is one of these times.
Hindsight is 20/20 right? I wish I was brave enough during my own labor to speak up for myself and my baby. I didn't have the knowledge I needed to trust my motherly intuition. I was put on the racetrack with a half empty tank and a two-man crew who didn't know how to drive. My birth didn't go how I envisioned because I didn't prepare myself for anything. I just went with the flow and let me tell you... the flow goes where the doctor wants it to. š
We as women have our intuition undermined from the moment our providers start "managing" our pregnancies and telling us how to feel about your bodies and our babies. Birth is NOT a medical event. You do not need managed, poked and prodded, or induced.
Your body is wise. Your baby will initiate labor when they are ready to come earthside. Trust the process.
My goal is to give you and your family the attention and knowledge you need to make informed decisions about your pregnancy, labor, birth and postpartum. I want you to know your body, labor options, and plan, down to the dotted i's and crossed t's. Birth is a life altering event down to the cellular level, being prepared is not only recommended, it is vital to the success of your matresence (journey to motherhood, isn't that a lovely word š)
Every woman deserves to have someone there to guide and assist them in making educated choices about their pregnancy. To remind them that they can trust the strength of their bodies during this time. Iām here to provide unbiased information and emotional support.
